But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more ...

But as for me, I will always have hope;  I will praise you more and more.   Psalm 71:14

Always?  Think about that.  Would you praise him in ALL situations?  In all conditions?  And why or why not?

  • What if you found out you had Cancer and would die in 1 month?  What if it was your child?
  • What if you were stricken paralyzed from the neck down and continued living for years that way?
  • What if you had excruciating pain that was untreatable?
  • What if you were physically abused, and there seemed like there was no light at the end of tunnel?

Would you "always have hope"? Would you "praise Him more and more"?

This is the question we must ask ourselves:  Do we trust in Him?  Do we continue, content despite our circumstances in God's promises?  Do we have hope?  Do we leave it to Him, or do we apply our own flawed logic?  Because we don't understand, do we assume He hates us - or worse - that He's forgotten us?

We are called to praise Him, even in the tough times.  Especially in the tough times.  Those "tough times" to us, could be the greatest blessings of our lives, and we just don't know it.

Amen?
